I understand the historical reason for managers wearing uniforms in MLB/MiLB (once, the Manager was a player who took on extra duties, yadda yadda yadda), and the fact that this has since been codified in the US.

However, I find myself wondering if the same custom holds in other leagues outside the US? Do managers in NPB or the various Latin American leagues wear the uniform of the team? Or do they wear street clothes, as do coaches in just about every other pro sport?

On reflection on how I went about googling this question before asking it (which was surprisingly difficult), it occurred to me to search for managers of overseas teams by name to find in-game photos. It looks like, at least in Japan, the custom holds. Though I suppose Bobby Valentine could be a weirdo who insisted on wearing a uniform when he wasn't expected to. He's an odd fellow. –  LessPop_MoreFizz Jan 29 at 2:38
