After their win tonight, the LA Kings are one game away from Stanley cup final. If they win their next game, they will sweep the NY Rangers to win the NHL titles.

So now I'm wondering how many times has Stanley cup final sweep has occurred? Please list the team and the year of accomplishment.

Twenty times in 72 years that's about once for every 4 years , it can hardly be considered as much more then a rare occurrence and is of itself not particularly note worthy. I must say that run of 4 in 4 was interesting though – user4780 Jun 12 '14 at 8:01
