comment When did Hashim Amla get out for a duck in ODI?
He was also given out LBW about an hour ago in the practice match for Champion's Trophy, for a second ball duck, on the bowling of Junaid Khan.

comment The 100 mph barrier
Very good information, +1. So the only is Shaun Tait, who is a modern day cricketer, so it is very unlikely that he was clocked incorrectly, or found taking drugs.

comment What issues arise from spot fixing and match fixing in cricket and football?
Also, paying the cricketers to take off their sun-glasses, tie their bootlaces at a particular moment, etc also come under spot-fixing.

Yes, Shoaib Akhtar is well known across the world. 100.6 mph he clocked to set the world record, if I remember correctly. Shaun Tait also I have seen. The others are a surprise to me, especially Mohammed Sami. Anyways, good contribution, thank you.

comment On what basis players and teams are ranked by ICC?
For cricketers, you lose points every time you're not playing, whether due to illness, poor form, or retirement. Good rule, otherwise Don Bradman would've been at the top even today :)

comment Career of a cricketer
Also worth mentioning that some matches such as Australia vs Rest of the World also counted in the international career of players. Once there also used to be matches between continents, such as Asia vs Africa. Don't remember the name of the tournament, but the stats were counted too. These tournaments have been closed though, for quite a long time.

comment The 100 mph barrier
@Bogdanovist, true. I've heard quite a lot of how fast the WI bowlers were in the old times, but unfortunately, they weren't clocked for speed that well. Also, along with speed and luck, it takes a tremendous toll on the body. This is why Shaun Tait has retired from Tests and ODIs.

comment what actually is considered obstructing the field in cricket
hmm.. a little bit of research led me to this page, and it suggests that there was a general rule earlier, but it was tightened up recently. Anyways, I am pretty sure of hearing this in the commentary that this is a new rule, but I can't trace its origin.

comment Cricket ground specifications
No, I was wrong. "The MCG arena now has a total of approximately 20,000 square metres in area and measures 173.6 long x 148.3 metres wide, from fence to fence. The boundary line is located five metres inside the fence."
