There have been six NHL teams thus far that have won the [President's Trophy][1] but have gone on to be eliminated first round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. 

The worst Stanley Cup finish by a President's Trophy winner was in 2012 by the **[Vancouver Canucks][7]**, who were eliminated first round in a 4-1 series against the Los Angeles Kings. 

Other first round eliminations of President Trophy winners: 

[**1991 Chicago Blackhawks**][2] got eliminated in the first round by Minnesota North Stars in a 4-2 series.   

[**2000 St. Louis Blues**][3] got eliminated in the first round by San Jose Sharks in a 4-3 series.

[**2006 Detroit Red Wings**][4] got eliminated in the first round by Edmonton Oilers in a 4-2 series.

**[2009 San Jose Sharks][5]** got eliminated in the first round by Anaheim Ducks in a 4-2 series. 

**[2010 Washington Capitals][6]** got eliminated in the first round by Montreal Canadiens in a 4-3 series.
