I have observed this times andtime again that a country starts building new stadiums whenever they are elected for hosting a FIFA world cupWorld Cup.

Why is that?

  1. Why don't they have sufficient stadiums already given that they certainly have domestic leagues?

  2. If they don't have sufficient stadiums already, why are they elected to host a world cup?

Note. I am not talking about renovating the old ones.
